Andrew's disc golf tips
Andrew Coggin / Team Discraft In North Carolina where we have tight wooded holes, I see players that try to throw way to hard. Don't force your shots, find your line, and throw the right disc at the right speed. Let the disc do the work.

Find a grip that is comfortable and feels good to you. Make sure you reach back and pull all the way through. Also, your run up and x-step should feel comfortable. Timing is everything.

What is the most important part of your game? Putting. Putting wins tournaments. If you do nothing else, putt every day. Drive first, putt last.

COURSES YOU SHOULD PLAY:
Course Comments
Fontana Village Resort DGC
Fontana Dam, NC
In the mountains of NC. Some of the best views I have ever seen on a Disc Golf course.
Hornets Nest
Charlotte, NC
Front 9 mostly open, back 9 tight wooded holes. The best of both course types.
Water Works
Kansas City, MO
Beautiful course, love the elevation changes.
McClure Park
Tulsa, OK
Mostly open, gentle rolling hills. Very beautiful but challenging.
University of North Carolina
Chapel Hill, NC
Mix of wooded and open holes. Go Tarheels.

Disc Comments
Z Force
(174 gm)
Good for long stable shots that are predictable in the wind. I also use it for overstable side arm shots.
Z Predator
(174 gm)
Good for overstables shots as well as spike hyzers and thumbers.
ESP Surge
(174 gm)
Good for long distance throws.
Z Stalker
(174 gm)
Good for straight to overstable fairway drives.
In The Disc Golf Bag: Midrange
Disc Comments
Z Buzzz
(178)
My favorite midrange disc. Tt holds a very straight line. By far the best midrange disc ever made. I put my Z buzz on the island green on the last hole of the 09 worlds in Kansas City.
Z Wasp
(178)
The Wasp is an outstanding midrange disc. More overstable than the Buzzz, but just as predictable.
Z Comet
(178)
This is my number one turn over disc. Kirk Yoo introduced me to the Comet. It has been in the bag ever since. It has really improved my game.
Z Drone
(178)
Great for upshots and short drives. Very predictable.

Disc Comments
X Soft Challenger
(174)
I have always loved soft putters. The Challenger feels great in your hand, is straight and dependable.
Banger GT
(174)
My go to upshot and short drive putter.
