Frequently Asked Questions

General

  • Where is Discraft located?
  • Our mailing address is 51000 Grand River Ave, Wixom Michigan, 48393. Phone 248-624-2250, fax 248-624-2310.

  • What are your hours of operation?
  • You'll find us here Monday through Friday, 9am - 5pm eastern time. On weekends you'll either find us at tournaments, or testing out the next killer disc at the Discraft proving grounds.

  • Do you accept PayPal?
  • Yes!

  • How can I find out about new Discraft discs as they are released?
  • Follow us on social media. Sign up for our e-newsletter. We send one out to our subscribers about once a month.

It's easy and completely private. We won't sell you out to any low-down spammers.

  • I'd like a catalog of Discraft products.
  • Please see our carbon neutral online catalog (pdf or flash). If you are a disc retailer in search of printed catalogs, please ask us when you place your order.

  • Do you give tours of the Discraft production facilities?
  • Unfortunately no, as our insurance company wants a truckload of cash to allow us to do that.

  • I'm doing a school research project. Can you help me?
  • Thanks for asking! We now receive hundreds of requests each semester due to the increasing popularity of disc sports as a student research topic, and can no longer offer individual assistance. We hope you will find what you need among the hundreds of pages at discraft.com.

  • Some disc golf companies use a 4-number system to describe disc flight characteristics. Why does Discraft use only one (stability rating)?
  • At Discraft, we want to give players the absolute best service and information. Unlike other disc sports companies, we conduct regular focus groups to talk face to face with players of all experience levels and get their feedback. One point that consistently comes up in these studies is that a four-number rating system confuses and annoys a majority of players. Their message to us is "keep it simple."

Another equally important point on this topic is the completely subjective nature of the information provided by those other manufacturers. At Discraft, we think science rocks. A descriptor such as "Speed 17" comes from the marketing department, not engineering. It is a number created from thin air to manipulate you the consumer and to fit that manufacturer's preconceived product needs. When the day comes that precision test equipment is available to provide scientific, empirical data on disc golf flight characteristics and testing is conducted across the industry by a non-partisan third party such as PDGA under lab conditions, Discraft will be happy to provide additional flight data to our customers who would like additional details to assist them in selecting the right disc for their needs. Until then, we'll keep it simple and leave the other companies to shovel the BS.

  • Where can I go for more information about ultimate, disc golf or freestyle?
  • USA Ultimate, the Professional Disc Golf Association, and the Freestyle Players Association are excellent places to start.
