  • tim's disc golf tips
Tim Barham / Team Discraft Most people either get discouraged too easily, or just don't remember to follow through with their shot. It's not as easy as it looks. Don't give up too quick. Try to remember when you throw your disc you want to point with your opposite hand after you release to have better aim and follow through. Also remember that a level release is the best: you don't want to throw to high or to low. Shoulder to shoulder, keep it flat.

To get to the next level in your game, get out on the course. Play with different people. Ask your course pro for any tips. That helped me the most. Since I have started playing I have been playing with really good golfers so I set high standards for myself. And they helped me along.

If you're trying to add distance, go out and throw in fields. Work or your technique, and being smooth.

    ESP Crank
    (171 - 172 gm)
Comfortable in my hand, the rim feels the best for me on long range straight or turn over shots.
    Z Crush
    (173 - 174 gm)
My go-to forehand disc ever since day one. I throw it flat and it flies straight and finishes hyzer. Very accurate for me, it stands up straight with less power. Trust it through the woods and has a consistent skip.
    ESP and Z Force
    (171 - 172 gm)
Another comfortable rim for me. I can throw Force as hard as I want most the time and count on it to finish hyzer. I its great for spike shots and I even throw it forehand sometimes.
    Z Flick
    (171 - 172 gm)
Extra stable! I use a Flick for all my thumbers and forehand rollers.
    DGA Undertow
    (171 - 172 gm)
Love this disc. Sky anhyzer shots and hyzer flip shots. Thinner rimmed disc that flies far. Also good for rolling.

    Z Buzzz
    (172+ gm)
Best disc in the world. Buzzz is my most thrown, most accurate, most everything. I can make this disc do anything I want. Dead straight, hyzer, anhyzer... it's perfect.
    Z Wasp
    (172+ gm)
When I want a little more overstability, the Wasp is perfect. I don't change my throw at all. I also like it for low skip shots.

    Soft X and D Challenger
    (171 - 172 gm)
Feels good in my hand. I use the soft ones for the grip that I like, not too thick of a rim with a nice round edge and flies straight. Reliable and consistent putter.
